why we are the way we are
we've advanced so much as a civilization, but in some regards things have regressed. So much technology, so much innovation and complexities of life created and uncovered.
things have changed for real, we are not the same
Individuality is everywhere. We're told that the core ingredient for any advancement is just being better as individuals learning more, working more, spending more on things that matter to you and you alone.
You alone. Can you feel how wrong that sounds? Or are you brainwashed by the short content you consume, the endless stream telling you that your personal journey is all that matters?
In our insatiable thirst for knowledge, we've lost a key part of our own selves: the soul of our species. My thesis is simple-human progress is a shared value, not something arising from individuality.
What is this kairos thing I am talking about? The concept is simple:
A place for people to come and work on their ideas. Not virtual. Not behind screens. Real human connection in a physical space.
You might wonder I've talked so much about rejecting individuality, yet now I'm promoting personal ideas? There's no contradiction here.
Putting people in an actual physical place, no screen to delimit, no fake social windows to have a part in it, adding people in a mix, naturally results in social interactions between them. This is our nature, this is what happens when we make a smoothie of souls-our own evolutionary instinct has led us to this.
The word "kairos" comes from ancient Greek, meaning "the right, critical, or opportune moment." Not just time passing (chronos), but the perfect moment for action.
Our modern society fixes most of the problems that our ancestors encountered. We could be blessed in many ways:
The brutalist real life of someone from then has just become a competition of concepts.
Recently a huge innovation has risen: the AI revolution. LLMs-whatever you wanna call them-allow intelligence to be simply accessed by anyone. Intelligence so common everywhere.
This innovation not only can make us better, it can do stuff for us. For the first time in history, we CAN be the ones that don't need to execute an idea (at least partially) and just envision it. An abstract form of intelligence will implement it.
In this dying age of the soul, everything is radical, everything is interconnected.
We've swapped the feeling of our sensory existence with the slavery of a screen.
So many opportunities to find people, yet we live less. Lives that are no longer intense, where most of the time we just consume content from other people, just making content to consume us-a cycle of corruption affecting everyone, from young to our grandparents.
We are what we consume
We've cursed the way of existence.
How we've wronged our sense, by swapping a common dream of humanity with individual pleasure of a hedonistic messiah.
Creation is no longer cool. Creation is not important. Even now we're told what to do, we are educated like cattle, and if we are not like that, we are corrupted by a society based on fake merits:
Money, power and recognition are not bad things on their own.
The devil is in the details-it's how you achieve them, how you develop these obsessions.
Researching, inventing, composing, discovering vs. scheming, faking, building a following on a fake persona, stealing from your own, destroying for views, making others feel worse because your glory is so much "earned".
